Sweetwater Labradors was formed in 1988 with the purchase of my first show dog from Beth Davis of Sailin Labrador Retrievers, Sailin's Sweetwater Serene.  "Lilac" was my teacher, my best friend, and as Beth herself said, had the face of an angel!  I lucked out with this beautiful girl, who was  major pointed, sound as a dollar and produced my first champion, Ch. Sweetwater's Full Moon Fortune, or "Alex."  From there I have shown and bred on a limited basis and am still operating from that foundation line that goes back to Briary, Sailin, Ch.Monarch's Black Arrogance, and Am/English Show Ch. Receiver of Cranspire.
I still breed on a limited basis, to continue my lines and to compete in the show ring.  Most importantly I value the temperaments, health and mental and physical soundness of my dogs, while adhering to the breed standard, the "blueprint" for the breed.  While I do not hunt myself, I insist on maintaining the retrieving instincts that the breed was designed for in my breeding program.
Labradors are the ultimate "do it all with a smile" dog.  They are all about enjoying life and they enhance the lives of their owners and casual acquaintances alike.
Sweetwater Labradors have been successful guide dogs, show champions and wonderful family companions.  I will soon be showing  my home-bred girl, Hazel, co-owned with Candice LIttle who has achieved her Canadian Grand Championship in a short amount of time!
I have been a member/board member of several Labrador clubs in the past.
